Historical Overview of the Central University Library of the University of Tlemcen
The Central University Library was founded in 1975, coinciding with the establishment of the University Center of Tlemcen, which later became Abou Bekr Belkaïd University in 1989. The establishment of the Abdelmadjid Meziane Central Library took place during a period when Algerian universities were experiencing intensive activity to strengthen scientific research and academic education. It began as part of the educational structure, opening its doors and commencing the provision of its scientific services and welcoming its users on October 1, 2000, at the Imam pole. Since then, it has undergone developments and restructuring, being relocated in June 2022 to the new Mansourah pole, as a scientific and cultural offering serving students, researchers, and professors.
