Central Library Collections

Documentary collections form the backbone of the university's central library. They reflect its level of development and its ability to meet the needs of its users. These collections are diversified as follows:
1. Printed Collections
This category includes textbooks and basic reference works in various disciplines, in addition to general and specialized encyclopedias, dictionaries, and lexicons. The library ensures these collections are updated periodically to align with the academic programs and courses adopted within the university.
2. Periodicals and Scientific Journals
Periodicals are considered one of the most important sources of modern information, as they contain the latest studies and research. The university central library subscribes to peer-reviewed scientific journals, both local and international, and maintains archives of previous issues for easy reference when needed.
3. University Theses and Dissertations
Master's and Doctoral theses hold a prominent place within the library's collections, as they represent original scientific output reflecting the university's research activity. They are often preserved in both paper and digital formats to facilitate access.
4. Digital and Electronic Resources
With the digital transformation, the library now provides electronic databases, digital books, and online journals, allowing rapid access to a vast amount of information. These resources also enable advanced searching and the downloading of full texts of studies.
5. Audiovisual Materials
This includes audio recordings, documentary films, and recorded lectures, which are used as supporting educational tools, especially in certain applied and human sciences.
6. Special and Rare Collections
The library preserves historical documents and special collections of high scientific and heritage value, adding an additional cultural dimension to its holdings.
