Organizational Structure

The Central University Library "The New Hub"

Administrative and human organization are among the fundamental pillars underpinning the effectiveness of university libraries, particularly the central library, which constitutes the beating heart of the academic institution and a primary source supporting both the educational process and scientific research. Sound departmental organization and the scientifically planned allocation of human resources contribute to improved performance, guaranteed service quality, and responsiveness to the ever-growing and diverse needs of users. From this standpoint, the central library seeks to adopt a clear organizational structure that defines its various departments and their respective functions, and regulates the working relationships among them.

I. Organizational Structure of the Central Library

The organizational structure of the central library is built on a hierarchical administrative framework designed to achieve coherence and integration across its various departments. This structure operates under the supervision of the library director, who is responsible for planning, coordination, and oversight. Such an organization serves to delineate authorities and responsibilities, facilitate decision-making, and ensure the smooth functioning of all library activities.

The organizational structure of the central library comprises several departments: the Acquisitions Department, the Technical Processing Department, the Bibliographic Research Department, and the Guidance Department. These departments operate in an integrated manner according to a well-defined functional distribution, in service of the library's overarching objectives.

II. Human Organization and Staff Distribution across Departments

The central library relies on a team of specialized professionals in library and information science, alongside administrative and technical staff, who are distributed across the various departments according to their academic qualifications and professional experience. This distribution is guided by the principles of specialization and division of labor, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in performance.

Staff in the Acquisitions Department are responsible for developing the documentary holdings through the procurement of various information resources. Staff in the Technical Processing Department carry out cataloguing, classification, and indexing operations in accordance with established standards. Staff in the Bibliographic Research Department and the Guidance Department are responsible for receiving users, directing them, and providing the necessary assistance in searching for information and making use of the library's services.

This human organization, aligned with the institutional structure, contributes to achieving harmony among the various departments, improving the level of services provided, and reinforcing the central library's role in supporting scientific research and higher education.
